About
Having grown up in the American South, Laura's family played a massive part in her interests. One set of grandparents were master gardeners and the other built exquisite English-inspired Georgian-style homes, complete with handmade raised paneling and solid brass fittings. Her parents followed suit, her father building houses and her mother, an artist, also designing houses and interiors. Her childhood was surrounded by beautiful things: herb gardens; oil paint; building sites; swatches and samples.
After building, renovating and designing some two dozen homes in Atlanta, winning an award for best period renovation and featuring in design media, Laura moved to the English countryside. Happily, gardening is even more rewarding in this climate and the houses more replete with fine fittings and period features, ready for the high American standard of finish that she can bring to the project.
